This original contemporary abstract painting is part of the "In Shadow and In Light" series, where celestial wonder meets architectural form. A dramatic starburst radiates luminous white lines across deep charcoal, while overlapping geometric planes in sage green, warm brown, and cream create a sophisticated interplay of transparency and depth. Rich layers of acrylic, gesso, and pencil add tactile dimension, punctuated by delicate white dots that float like distant stars and subtle circular forms that evoke planets and moons.

About This Geometric Abstract Artwork

"The Cosmos Within (2)" explores the infinite space that exists both in the universe and within our inner landscapes. Inspired by collage assemblages, space, dreams, music, time, and city landscapes, the composition balances cosmic vastness with intimate geometry. The radiating lines suggest both celestial light and the rhythm of sound waves, while the layered architectural forms ground the ethereal in physical structure. Musical elements echo through the linear strings crossing the composition, creating visual harmony between the cosmic and the earthly. This piece captures the moment when we look up at the night sky from a city window and feel the extraordinary pull between our small human presence and the boundless universe beyond.
